Summary

Amends the

Aged Care Act 1997
to: remove the requirement for an aged care reassessment when residents move from low to high care within the same aged care residence; and remove the 5-year limit on payment of accommodation charges thereby allowing providers to levy an accommodation charge for the entire period that a liable person lives in the same aged care residence. Also contains an application provision.
